INCISIONS, STITCHES & SCARS

Depending on the type of facelift performed the facelift incisions will vary. Similarly eyelid surgery, brow lift, and facial implant surgery come with their own set of incisions. For a detailed explanation, visit these procedures.

  • The surgeon strategically plans and places the incisions and stitches for the surgery in terms of number, size, material, location and technique aiming to keep the resulting scar minimal, hidden and not easily visible eye. Special tissue handling and suture techniques further minimize scars.

Several small incisions are made within the hair line for the endoscopic brow lift.

The incisions are strategically placed targeting for low visibility within the natural contours in front and behind the ears.

HOW IS IT PERFORMED?

Facial rejuvenation is a task wherein the surgeon chooses the required procedures based on your health status and cosmetic goals for the best look possible.

Fat Transfer

This is usually the first procedure performed aiming for volume enhancement. Fat from one’s own body is harvested from fat rich areas, processed and is injected into the target recipient sites using a special cannula.

Facelift

A limited incision or an extensive facelift is performed based on the degree of skin laxity the patient is facing. The skin would be lifted as flaps and trimmed or undermined as needed and approximated again by sutures in a highly skilled manner. A thread lift uses specialized threads to ‘lift’ the sagging, wrinkled areas in the face. These are placed underneath the skin.

Eyelid surgery and brow lift are performed in a similar manner to facelift.

Facial implants can be used in various site such at the chin, at the jaw line, cheek bone area to provide volume enhancement as needed. Implants would be made of special silicone material. They showed a very low rejection rate in studies.

Laser skin resurfacing can be used to stimulate the collagen growth and give volume enhancement to the areas with fine wrinkles, treat blotchy pigmentation, under eye bags and skin damage due to sun exposure.

After the majority work is done by the surgical methods we can make further refinements as follows

  • Wrinkles in the forehead can be treated by using Botulinum Neurotoxin.
  • Fine lines around the mouth, folds extending from the nose to the mouth can be treated by using fillers.
  • Lips can be enhanced by adding volume to them by using fillers.
  • Marionette lines are the deep lines that extend from the corner of the lip to the jaw line. These can be treated by doing a fat transfer.

Filler and Neurotoxin injections: these complement other treatments and are useful in maintaining your youthful appearance when repeated periodically.

Fat Grafting: The results are permanent but the grafted cells will age as you age, naturally.

Laser Skin Resurfacing: yields permanent results.
