ABOUT

Also known as Botox® or Botulinum Toxin Type A

Botox® is a medical injectable that is used to reverse some of the ageing changes in the skin.  The injection contains Botulinum toxin (Type A) which blocks the nerve signals that cause muscles to contract. When the muscles relax, it leads to smoothening of the look of lines and wrinkles caused by repetitive movements on the face. This treatment is effective and is most commonly used to treat the wrinkles between the brows, crows-feet around the eyes, and horizontal forehead creases. Cosmetically this injection is also used to balance facial asymmetry and relax tight neck bands. Medically it can be used to reduce perspiration (treat hyperhidrosis) and to treat migraine headaches and muscle spasticity.
