ABOUT
Also known as Abdominoplasty
Some people have a flabby abdomen with weak muscles that impairs the body contour. This is usually seen after pregnancy & after a massive weight loss. In Tummy-tuck surgery the loose, excess fat and skin are removed and the muscles in the abdominal wall are tightened. It can also remove some if not all of the stretch marks in your lower abdomen.

INCISIONS, STITCHES & SCARS
In a full abdominoplasty: A V-cut or U-cut shaped incision is made which extends from hipbone to hipbone anteriorly and is strategically places so that the scar can be hidden in a bikini. Based on the amount of correction you need Dr.Venkat will determine the shape and length of the incision. You may also have an incision around the navel.
In a mini-tummy tuck: the incision is strategically placed as low as possible so that it can be concealed in the pubic bone area. The abdominal skin below the navel will be trimmed. No incisions are placed around the navel. Based on the amount skin to be removed the length of the incision will vary.
In a high lateral tension abdominoplasty, incisions and the resulting scars are longer and are often higher compared to the more traditional abdominoplasties and mini-tummy tucks.
- An incision is usually made on the navel and around the belly button.
- Loose underlying tissue and muscle is tightened and sutured together.
- Skin is drawn downward, the excess is excised. An opening is surgically created for the belly button.
- After surgery, there will be a scar easily hidden in underwear or a swimsuit.

The effect to produced by this procedure can be simulated by grabbing the skin on the sides of your waist and pulling up , this simulation looks just like putting on a pair of pants. Here a tummy tuck is done in the front of the abdomen and the lift is transferred over the hip to the lateral aspect of the thigh to inorder to improve the contour in this location, suspending and improving the hip and thigh.

As you age, your skin gets wrinkled (though not such high degree), this is a process of natural ageing. It is recommended that you finish having children before you undergo a tummy tuck. If you are planning to lose weight, do it before you undergo this procedure.
